34th Annual Light the Way Celebration

Celebrate the 34th annual Light the Way Holiday Drive presented by H-E-B from the comfort of your own sleigh (vehicle). Come ready for a night under the lights at the beautiful University of the Incarnate Word campus. The experience will include a tour of the UIW campus, performances by UIW students, event activations along the route and a chance to see our special guests Red the Cardinal and Santa Claus!

Plan Your Visit

Light the Way Holiday Drive will be offered November 20 – 22 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. If you miss the celebration from November 20 – 22, we invite you to visit campus starting Monday, November 23 to enjoy the lights that remain lit every evening through the holiday season and conclude on January 6, 2021.

Important Event Information

Friday, Nov. 20, Saturday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 22, from 6 – 9 p.m. daily.

To allow for safe social distancing while continuing this beloved UIW tradition, this year’s Light the Way event will be a drive-thru experience over the course of three days.

If you are living, working or attending class on campus, please note that the only entrance to campus will be at Broadway and Burr from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on event nights. Campus will only allow one-way traffic from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, Saturday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 22.  The Hwy 281 campus entrance will be open from 6 - 11 p.m. for Light the Way guests and residents needing to get to their residence halls. Two exits will remain available – one at Hildebrand and 281 (ICC), and one at Broadway and Burr.

Please be aware there will be longer than usual wait times to enter and exit campus. Campus will resume normal access and traffic flow starting at 11 p.m. each night.
